About Competition

HSE CREATIVE OPEN: A Global Student Competition by HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL

The competition aims to bring together original ideas and standout projects across design, contemporary art, and fashion, while highlighting career opportunities in the creative industry.

Students from any university, anywhere in the world, are welcome to participate.

About the nomination

The core mission is to explore the most contemporary ways of conveying knowledge through the modern book. Participants are tasked with crafting a seamless communication flow and an immersive user experience, grounded in a strong structural and compositional design. Methods for achieving powerful imagery and expressiveness must be clearly defined, with no restrictions on volume, genre, or format.

The goal of this category is to create a collection of relevant knowledge in relevant forms, making full use of the possibilities of the book as a medium.

All book formats are welcome, from printed editions to e-books. Projects can target children or adults, and the focus is on the concept and effective presentation of information, while the format can remain traditional or become experimental. Both fully realized works and prototypes are eligible for submission.
