HSE CREATIVE OPEN: A Global Student Competition by HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL
The competition aims to bring together original ideas and standout projects across design, contemporary art, and fashion, while highlighting career opportunities in the creative industry.
Students from any university, anywhere in the world, are welcome to participate.
«One Day the Sun Will Explode»: a short animated film by Elizaveta Prokopenko
About the nomination
The competition welcomes original animated works that reflect the creator’s unique style and vision. Experimental visuals, unconventional approaches, and personal perspectives on the world are highly encouraged. Submissions can use any technique—from traditional hand-drawn animation to digital, stop-motion, or mixed media. The main focus is on artistic integrity and the animator’s personal voice.
Nomination task
Create a short animated film with a duration of 1 to 5 minutes. The work should reflect a unique creative vision and demonstrate mastery of the chosen animation technique.
Submission requirements
The competition accepts completed animated films with a runtime of up to 5 minutes, created using any animation technique. Conceptually developed projects with detailed visualizations of key scenes are also eligible.
Submissions should be made as a presentation, including the concept, key frames, and a link to the finished work. The presentation must clearly convey the author’s intent and artistic vision for the film.

1st Place: 50,000 RUB 2nd Place: 30,000 RUB 3rd Place: 20,000 RUB
