Heart of the Wasteland is a short, author-driven animation. The story is inspired by V. Dashkevich’s universe from the book series «They Are Not Human.»
In an alternate world, alongside humans, live Divas—magical beings from the Wasteland—for many long years. They have long stopped transforming into monsters and terrifying those around them. The aspiration of most Divas is to coexist peacefully with humans and be indistinguishable from them. And what about the humans? They continue to fight the Divas even when no threat emanates from them, even if that Diva is a child.
The story of the diva Agatha, living among people, is filled with emotional experiences.
The joy of connecting with someone who entrusted them with the secret of their origins, the pain and bitterness of their betrayal, and overwhelming childhood memories.
The hurricane of these feelings in a moment of danger allows Agatha to reveal her true nature and become a monster to protect herself and others…
