In this project, I wanted to show that music can evoke emotions not only in listeners but also in performers—and these emotions aren’t always positive. I tried to capture this essence in the title: «Fuggetta on Pain.»
A fuggetta / fugue is a polyphonic work where various voices echo a predetermined theme.
And so are my characters. The girl’s story is filled with fear, and the boy’s with a sense of hopelessness. Although they experience different emotions, they can be unified by the word «pain"—psychological and even physical, the very thing they «play» with. With slightly different voices and on different instruments, yet all connected to the same core feeling.

While playing the piano, the girl makes a mistake. The teacher flies into a rage and transforms into a terrifying monster. The girl is terrified and makes mistakes more frequently, but she can’t help it…

Playing the guitar brings the boy nothing but suffering; he looks tired and unhappy, and all his fingers are calloused. But there are things worth his persistent effort: earnings, love, recognition, and fame. He is willing to push past himself and ignore the pain for the sake of his dream’s future.
